AMD gained in extended trading on Tuesday after the semiconductor company forecast upbeat revenue for the current quarter while reporting a narrower-than-expected loss and higher-than-estimated revenue for the most recent quarter.
For Q1, AMD expects revenue to increase 18% year-over-year, above the Capital IQ analyst expectation of 15.7% increase.
Non-GAAP net loss narrowed to $0.01 in the December quarter, from $0.10 a year earlier. Analysts had predicted a loss of $0.02 per share, according to Capital IQ estimates. Q4 revenue increased to $1.11 billion from $0.96 billion, topping the analyst consensus of $1.07 billion.
