The Spice Up Your Life hitmakers confirmed four of the group - Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel C and Mel B - will be reuniting for six concerts in the United Kingdom next summer in a spoof news bulletin they shared on Twitter.
In a video accompanying the tweet, there was footage of each member apart from Beckham above a ticker headline: "Friendship never ends: Spice Girls announce shock United Kingdom tour". The announcement had been built up throughout the day, and Victoria Beckham - although not taking part in the reunion - is very much supportive of her friend's going ahead without her.
Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and London are the six cities that will host the comeback tour.
"The girls aren't going on tour", Beckham said during New York Fashion Week. Tickets are on sale this Saturday (11/10) at 10AM EST. They will be joined by a special guest, singer Jess Glynne.
"Well, we'll see about that one", she said.
The Spice Girls are about to give fans what they really, really want: a reunion.
"I'm not going on tour".
She said: "It's just the four of us that are fully confirmed but Vic might join us at some point".
She added, to Theakston: "Please don't look at me any more, or I might just blurt it out".
The girl group originally split in 2000 after performing for two years as a four piece, following Geri's departure.
Emma said: "It's time to spice things up all over again!"
The official announcement, reportedly for United Kingdom and USA tour dates, is expected around 7 AM PT.
The last time the group reunited was in 2012 for the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.
The iconic girlband will today unveil plans for a world tour after months and months of speculation.
Asked if they are heading back on tour, she said: "Yeah we are".
