Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he welcomes mediation from the United Nations and Egypt to prevent a humanitarian collapse in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reported Tuesday.

"Israel's continuous campaign of excessive and indiscriminate violence against the people of Gaza has persisted with impunity and has been emboldened by the U.S. administration's strategic alliance with Israel", she added. Moscow is concerned about the escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at Thursday's briefing.

The statement said that the two groups highly appreciate and evaluate the efforts of Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations to "ease the suffering of our people and achieve aspirations of ending the Israeli siege". According to army sources of the boys were "apparently" intent on "placing explosive devices" along the border between Israel and Gaza.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad have also welcomed recent efforts by Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations ostensibly aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and in blockaded Gaza. The armed groups, which include Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front, and others, will also put a stop to the burning of tires and infiltrations taking place every Friday under cover of ongoing border riots, an unnamed senior Hamas member told the Haaretz daily.

Both groups praised Egyptian and United Nations efforts to broker a deal.

According to the palestinian Centre for Human rights, they were between the ages of 14 to 15 years.

More specifically, regarding the weekly Hamas-led border protests, just 36 percent of Gazans support this tactic, while 62 percent say they oppose it.

A Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire in fresh clashes on the Gaza border Monday, the health ministry in the Hamas-run enclave said.

Demonstrators are calling for Palestinian refugees to be allowed to return to the homes their families fled or were expelled from in the 1948 war surrounding the creation of Israel and which are now inside the Jewish state.
