The service was back up as of 11 a.m. HK/SIN time, although YouTube did not explain what caused the outage.
YouTube acknowledged the outage on Twitter and said it was working to fix the problem.
YouTube has apologised after technical issues took the site offline for more than an hour overnight on Wednesday. The company said it is "working on resolving this". "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated", YouTube tweeted.
