OnePlus 6T launch today: How to watch live and everything we know so far

OnePlus 6T: cut-price flagship launches with in-screen fingerprint sensor

Yesterday, OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6T at an event in NY.

The India launch of the OnePlus 6T takes place on 30 October, and we'll be keeping a close eye to see if OnePlus decides to bump up the price of the 6T for the market, which is one of its biggest by now.

Last week, OnePlus first confirmed that it'd launch a 5G device next year, prompting speculation that the OnePlus 7 might be the first smartphone from the company to support the next-gen wireless communication standard. The OnePlus 6T comes in three variants - 6GB + 128GB storage option for RS 37,999, 8GB RAM + 128GB for RS 41,999 and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage priced at Rs 45,999 repectively.

OnePlus, one of the fastest growing premium smartphone brands across the world, has today unveiled the OnePlus 6T smartphone.

The India launch event will be live streamed exclusively through social media handles as well as official YouTube channel. We have the updated OnePlus 6T launcher that will let you simulate the 6T experience on your 6.

The OnePlus 6T sports a waterdrop screen design, a full display at 6.4 inches, a 3700 mAh battery, and an in-display fingerprint sensor, or finger on display (FOD) technology.

Out of the box, the OnePlus 6T runs on Android 9 Pie with OxygenOS skin on top.

OnePlus 6T features a vertically stacked 16MP+20MP dual rear camera configuration. The flagship phone has a screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Because of which, the company announced the USB Type-C version of the Bullets earphones.

A wealth of information about the new handset is also available on the OnePlus site.

As before, users will be able to hide the notch on the OnePlus 6T, with a UI setting. The cameras feature OIS and EIS for better image quality along with large 1.22µm for superior low-light photography. There is a new nightscape mode that enhances low light performance.

To make it even more impressive and more appealing, the OnePlus 6T will also include a biometric fingerprint sensor embedded in the display which replaces the older sensor on the back of the hardware and which will work alongside the facial unlock system. It's also worthy to note that the OnePlus 6 isn't that far behind as it is placed 4th, just behind the Xiaomi black shark which is now currently placed 3rd. It is also the first OnePlus smartphone which ships without the popular 3.5mm headphone jack. The device features an in-display fingerprint scanner embedded under the screen and scratch is supposed to affect the scanner, or so we thought.

The phone is powered by a 3700mAh battery with OnePlus' proprietary Fast Charging capability.
