Man sets fire to parents' house after killing spiders with blowtorch

Man accidentally sets house on fire after using a blowtorch to kill black widow spiders

Fire officials said the exact cause of the fire had not been determined but they believe the blowtorch is to blame

The Fresno Fire Department said firefighters responded Tuesday night to reports of a house fire in the Woodward Lake housing development. But till what extent will you go to kill or shoo them away the spider?

A man reportedly used a blowtorch to kill black widow spiders at his parents' home in northeast Fresno, California.

A man who tried to "kill spiders with a blowtorch" burned his house to the ground after creating an inferno that required 23 firefighters to contain. (No word on the spiders.) The fire damaged the building's attic and second story.

Almost 30 fire fighters from the Fresno Fire Department arrived at the home to help put out the fire.

The local force tweeted afterwards: "Please don't use a blowtorch to kill spiders".

The occupants weren't home at the time of the fire and nobody was injured in the blaze, which was attended by more than two dozen fire officers.

The blaze that resulted forced him and an elderly woman out of their home, which was completely gutted.
