All-new MacBook Air takes flight

Macbook Air 2018 comes with 13-inch edge-to-edge Retina Display and 4 million pixels density. The screen's glass covering also stretches from edge-to-edge, meaning there's no bezel to worry about either. There are three thunderbolt ports in the new MacBook Air. All other ports have been eliminated, as expected in Apple's modern MacBook port strategy.

A third-generation keyboard features a butterfly mechanism, and 4x more stable keys over the previous generation.

The old Air's display was a 13.3-inch relic with 1,440-by-900 screen resolution. But Thunderbolt also enables Ethernet and can connect to displays, so it pretty much does everything. With screen technology now upgraded, the popularity of the MacBook Air may get another boost, and might even hit the sale of the MacBook Pro laptops.

At first glance, the new MacBook Air doesn't look wholly different from its previous iteration. Weighing in at 2.75 pounds, it's also a a quarter pound lighter than the previous edition. Macbook Air's ground-breaking, thin design changed the industry, said Tim Cook.

For a start, the computer has been given a space-grey finish on the outside with a body made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium. The new Apple MacBook also includes the Force Touch trackpad which is claimed to be 20 percent larger than one on the previous-generation MacBook Air. These allow MacBook Air to offer the most secure boot process and most secure storage of any notebook.
