Two more suspicious devices were intercepted on Thursday ー one in Delaware en route to former VP Joe Biden and the other at the restaurant and office of actor Robert De Niro in Lower Manhattan ー the eighth and ninth to be sent to high-profile critics of President Trump in a period of three days.

Packages mailed to billionaire philanthropist George Soros, former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder, congresswoman Maxine Waters and former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan.

The packages addressed to Biden were intercepted at DE mail facilities in New Castle and Wilmington, according to a law enforcement official who, like others, wasn't authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Reports say the package was specifically addressed to Robert De Niro.

"The utilization of violence in order to further one's own political agenda is unacceptable", said FBI Special Agent Bryan Paarmann.

Trump blamed his opponentsDespite a chaotic day of an attempted large-scale attack on prominent Democratic figures, Trump pointed the finger at his opponents and the news media for the turbulent national political environment.

In an early morning tweet, US President Donald Trump did not address the bomb scare directly, but he accused the news media of fanning hatred.

Police in NY have launched an investigation after a suspicious package addressed to actor and director Robert De Niro was found Thursday morning in a building in Lower Manhattan. They said investigators searching for additional suspicious parcels had not found any during the previous eight hours. At the NY briefing, authorities confirmed that at least some of the packages were distributed through the USA mail, and cautioned that there could be additional devices in the postal system.

Recently, former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder also triggered a response from Mr. Trump. Most, if not all, of them have made their way to people and organizations that President Donald Trump despises.

The FBI said the package intended for the former first lady and secretary of state Clinton was found in the vicinity of her residence in Chappaqua, New York.

Packages sent to all but Biden are in manila envelopes with bubble wrap interior, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

The law enforcement sources confirmed to News 4 that information. The packages appeared to be similar to 10 others sent this week.

"If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant and a department store at a gas station you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them", she said.

Robert De Niro's Tribeca Enterprises says "everyone is safe" after the recovery of a suspicious package addressed to the actor.

The attacks overtook other news in an already-tense political season that could reshape Congress and serve as a referendum on the first two years of Trump's presidency.

Several politicians, including U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, described the package bombs as an act of terrorism.
