Police say it's not clear whether the daycare was a licensed facility.

Police in NY say at least five people, including three infants, were stabbed at an overnight daycare center in Queens.

One of the adults attacked works at the nursery and the other was a father of a child.

The woman, 52, has been taken to hospital under police custody with non-life threatening injuries.

Two other people, a man and a woman, were also stabbed just before 4 a.m. Friday.

The ages of the infants, two girls and a boy, were not clear, but one of the girls is in serious condition, according to police. The woman was taken to a hospital and is now in police custody. She was found unconscious by police in the basement with a slash wound to her left wrist.

A female worker at the center was stabbed eight times in the torso and a 31-year-old male who tried to stop the assaults was stabbed in the leg. The five victims were taken to area hospitals.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the attack.
