Building on the mutual desire for peace between our two countries, I wish to propose a meeting between Foreign Minister, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the External Affairs Minister, Ms Sushma Swaraj, before the informal meeting of the SAARC Foreign Ministers at the sidelines of the upcoming UN General Assembly in NY. But I can just say one thing: All conflicts can be resolved through dialogue. But on the other hand, Pakistan has not shown any change in its approach and policy vis-à-vis cross-border terrorism.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry did not reveal if Saudi Arabia would be loaning money to Pakistan to help top up its dwindling foreign currency reserves, but said he expected Saudi Arabia to invest in Pakistan in a major way.
In 2014, six months after Pakistan obtained its last International Monetary Fund bailout, Saudi Arabia loaned it $1.5 billion that the government used to strengthen its rupee currency.

The spokesperson said Pakistan had consistently maintained that the only way forward was through a comprehensive, result oriented, uninterrupted, uninterruptible dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues.
This year, Pakistan had extended the MunaBao (India)-Khokhrapar (Pakistan) rail link agreement with India for another three years - from February 1, 2018 to January 31, 2021.
The extension in agreement came amid high tension between Pakistan and India.
This will be the first such high-level contact between the two sides since India snapped all formal talks with Pakistan following the terror attack on Pathankot airbase in 2016.
