Shaking her head and wiping tears from her face, McHenry's distraught grandmother told Radar in an interview that she didn't know what happened to her but had heard the news online.
According to the Daily News report, McHenry was 20 weeks pregnant at the time of her death, and had turned 26 on August 6. EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The 26-year-old daughter of movie producer Doug McHenry-who worked on films such as New Jack City and Krush Groove- starred in the 2016 E! reality series EJNYC alongside Magic Johnson's son EJ Johnson.
Aside from visible bruises on her knees, there were no other injuries or cuts reportedly found on McHenry's body.
McHenry, a longtime friend of reality star EJ Johnson, appeared on E!'s EJNYC and was also a producer on the show.
"There were no obvious signs of trauma observed", the NYPD statement read.
The reality star reportedly died from a drug overdose, however her cause of death is still under investigation.
The NYPD would not confirm her identity pending notification of next of kin.
Throughout the night she had posted a slew of Instagram videos at various hotspots across Manhattan.
"Why does she look so bomb?"
"Happy birthday to my best friend who has strutted with my in princess gowns since day 1 @lyric_leigh words can not express how much I love and appreciate you in my life. I love you ❤️ #leoseason #teamthis", he wrote.
Lyric's mother Jennifer had posted a sweet birthday message for her daughter last week on Instagram, writing, "Happy 26 years my attractive princess Lyric Leigh".
In June, McHenry shared a photo of Johnson on social media in celebration of his birthday.
