In 14 appearances, the 29-year-old found the back of the net an impressive 10 times but collectively, it was a disappointing campaign for the North Londoners in what turned out to be Arsene Wenger's final season in charge.

A new contract was handed to Rob Holding and Aaron Ramsey remains in talks about an extension, while Emery has made several new additions to his squad.

The Sun reports that midfielder Alex Iwobi has "snubbed interest from Lazio" and is set to sign a new five-year deal with Arsenal.

"But we're yet to come to an agreement so that's something that my agent and the club are discussing to try and get something done".

"I think all the players are really looking forward to this season and hopefully we can hit the ground running right from the off".

C Harish Kumar Reddy is wary of Emery's appreciation for the player and hopes Arsenal "don't go that route" of signing Nzonzi.

"It's always hard when a new manager comes in, for him to get his ideas across to the team and for it to just click straight away, but hopefully that will be the case".

Arsenal FC of England has denied reports that its chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, has accepted an offer that would see him leave the club.

Petr Cech said on Wednesday he was prepared to fight for his place as Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper and denied any contact with Chelsea over a return to Stamford Bridge.

Emery's new-look Arsenal will be put to the test when they play Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup in Singapore on Thursday and Sunday.
