International Champions Cup Report: Manchester City v Borussia Dortmund 21 July 2018

Hart included in Man City's pre-season tour of the US

Pep Guardiola wished Jorginho well after the Italy global turned down Manchester City for Chelsea.

Two lacklustre loan spells at both Torino and West Ham have decimated not only his reputation but also his transfer value.

Mahrez has been included in Guardiola's squad for City's USA tour, where they will play against Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Bayern Munich as they gear up for the new Premier League season.

Fans are likely to be unimpressed with the prospect of West Ham flop Hart replacing World Cup Golden Glove victor Courtois. If not, he will stay here.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper, who will see his present contract at the Etihad Stadium expire in June 2019, is one of 28 players selected as City will lock horns with Borussia Dortmund in Chicago (July 21), Liverpool in New York (July 26) and Bayern Munich in Miami (July 29).

Guardiola said his team played well despite not having a lot of time to train together.

"I know it's hard obviously because of the money that they've spent but it was going to take that type of money to get him out of there".

"But he is with us".

Jadon Sancho, who quit the Premier League club for Dortmund last August following a fall-out with Guardiola, was introduced in the second half and began promisingly.

Also in the squad is City's summer signing Riyad Mahrez, the winger recruited for a club-record fee of £60million from Leicester.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola claims it would have been a "mistake" if the "exceptional" Jorginho joined his club instead of Chelsea.

Regarding Jorginho, Guardiola said: "I'm not disappointed. My advice is for players to go where they want to go", he told a news conference ahead of Friday's International Champions Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund (9:05 p.m. ET, ESPN2). I have watched him from a distance and seen good performances.

Guardiola said Sane's World Cup disappointment could "make him stronger".
