Now that it's Pride Month, it seems as though the memes have resurfaced so that some can get a laugh at the expense of the 14-year-old.
"Obviously not everyone sees the humor here, particularly thanks to the star being, um, an actual child who herself is clearly unamused by this NSFW fun at her expense". There's some controversy over whether or not the memes are an in-joke created by members of the LGBTQ community that simply went beyond that original intent, or if it's people who are trying to hurt the actress and the community.
"People getting mad over the millie bobby brown homophobic meme makes me giggle most of these memes were made by the gays so don't worry, susan!"
Brown's Instagram account was still active as of Thursday, but she has disabled comments. Her account has since been suspended and the tweets deleted, but screenshots are forever. With these fake images, she's being bullied, and her likeness is being used to cause pain to the LGBTQ community.
It's really quite pathetic that people have nothing better to do other than targeting people like Brown and Tran with the end goal being what?
The Stranger Things star wasn't the first celebrity to quit social media after experiencing bullying. The post has since been deleted.
"I saw Millie Bobby Brown in the airport and asked for a pic and she said 'only if you remove the hijab, '" the now-suspended user wrote at the time. She's got Stranger Things season 3 coming up and she's also got her first major movie role in next year's Godzilla 2.
