The nation did get an extra bank holiday for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding - and Harry and Meghan's big day also clashes with the FA Cup Final, as well as the start of Ramadan.

Because of the heart attack and the fiasco surrounding the picture, Thomas has now decided not to attend his daughter's wedding to avoid causing any embarrassment to Meghan or the royal family.

A stark contrast to the celebrations that kicked off in 2011 for our last Royal Wedding.

"It is fair to say this bloke is forking us off big time because as far as we are concerned, we have our work cut out already on the big day", a Windsor Police source reportedly (and hilariously) told Express.

This week, reports emerged that Thomas Markle would not be attending the royal wedding after suffering a heart attack.

Meghan Markle's mother Doria Ragland has arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to catch a flight to London for her daughter's royal wedding to Prince Harry on Saturday.

Ms Ragland was picked up from her LA home by a chauffeur, who loaded her luggage into a luxury vehicle.

Markle's health problems allegedly occurred after news of staged paparazzi photos broke, with daughter Samantha Grant later taking responsibility for the unfortunate situation.

They are the two oldest children of Prince William, Harry's brother, and his wife Kate.

Queen Elizabeth II is set to be furious about what has taken place over the past few days but it was not evident when she greeted guests at a garden party at Buckingham Palace today. "She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr Markle in this hard situation".

Her image can be seen everywhere in the UK. Media cameras are expected to follow Markle from her overnight venue to the chapel.
