The Tampa Bay Lightning may have started out their series against the Boston Bruins on the wrong foot, but they have definitely found a way to get back on the right track and start winning games.

Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

The Lightning lit the lamp less than two minutes into action.

Donato performed well in his short time with the Bruins.

Tuuka Rask made 33 saves on 36 shots. He didn't, and Tampa Bay capitalized. But it's not just the third line or the Bolts' shutdown line of Ondrej Palat, Brayden Point and Tyler Johnson that's been doing the heavy lifting.

"We'll probably tinker. I'm not going to tell you who's going in or who's going out. That's what we brought in the first".

The Bruins were left searching for the energy in the building that had dissipated since Rancourt ran off the ice. Shortly after Boston went on the power play, while they did not score it gave them some confidence. They're just playing responsible.

The pace slowed in the second period for both teams.

San Jose then scored twice in the final five minutes of the first period. Marchand had his own criticisms of the officiating following Game 3, and it's easy to see why the Bruins might be frustrated after getting just one power play Wednesday night. The forecheck has also stifled one of the NHL's best offenses, the Bruins ranking first in the League at 4.25 goals per game heading into Game 2. The B's are still in control of this series until they drop a game at home. That was about all the Bruins gave their home crowd to cheer about.

Shots and scoring chances are happening, so there is no concern within the Lightning locker room that a breakout could happen during the series. Save for an empty net goal Wednesday, Lightning superstars Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov have been near-invisible, which should be a boon to Bruce Cassidy's squad.

At the same time, the Lightning is going to need a repeat performance of Game 3 where they strike early and strike hard. The Lightning and the Bruins should only go further in the direction as their Eastern Conference semifinal clash transitions to Boston for game 3. "They've done it for a long time".

NOTES: Vegas had outscored the opposition 7-1 in the first period in the first seven games this postseason. He has a phenomenal wrist shot and hockey I.Q. Mere minutes later, Palat did it again.

After an early giveaway led to a scoring chance for Vegas, Ryan fared well and stripped William Carrier of the puck to thwart a chance for the Golden Knights. Jones saw the puck well all night, and his reactions were prompt and precise as well. "We just couldn't get over the top". "Have the puck a little more so you're not defending where you get into penalty trouble". It just wasn't the Golden Knights' night.

The trio shut down New Jersey's Taylor Hall in the first round of the playoffs, and has outplayed Boston's monster line of Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak after being scorched for three goals and eight assists in the Game 1 loss. He stopped all 34 shots he faced for his second shutout of the postseason. The only thing stopping Palat from a first period hat trick was an incredible paddle save by Rask.

While he wasn't overly pressed in this game, Vasilevskiy was exactly as good as he needed to be.

The Lightning could not have dreamed for a better start. The Predators held a 3-0 lead over the Jets in Winnipeg after the first period.

"His attitude - he wants to belong, he wants to be a part of this team", said Cooper. "That hasn't been the case in the last two games". The Jets, meanwhile, didn't: they were opportunistic and relentless. "They know how to win games".
