The point means United are ensured of finishing second behind runaway champion Manchester City, while David Moyes' West Ham remained in 15th place - but just two points from 10th with one game remaining.

"I saw there was a bit going on but the game had not been that type of game all night, there was a wee bit that came out of nowhere really but I wouldn't make anything of it".

"How many points distinguish us from Manchester City?" Not two, three or four but a lot of points.

"He has qualities that we believe can make him a good coach, and there are many ways to do the bridge between being a player and on the coaching staff". In my squad, I have some players where I would like to have better than what I have. However, this should not be disappointing them too much, as they have a good record by also holding league wins against every team in the top seven. I know them better than anyone.

"Unless there is a flawless squad, where if you buy one goalkeeper you don't like, you buy another one". However, the 36-year-old, who has won every single domestic trophy in England and Europe, has chose to hang his boots with the club looking for a new man to wear the captain's armband.

Mourinho has no plans for a major overhaul of his squad, arguing he does not have the finances to buy players at will, which could be interpreted as a criticism of Manchester City. 'So, in this moment, for me, he's staying'. He also said that a team can keep a new goalkeeper and central defender, only to substitute them.

"When I say love, I say it footballistically - players you don't totally believe have the level of the squad but you have to keep".

Speaking ahead of Thursday's fixture at West Ham, he said: '[Rashford] impresses me. "When you lose against all the teams that were promoted, that doesn't smell right for me".

"As a United fan you want to compete for the league and compete in Europe as well, but winning the FA Cup and coming second, you can build on that and we all hope they can compete for the Premier League next year".

'He needs to learn now, he's an unbelievable talent for me, and he needs to be playing in a first-team somewhere'.
