OnePlus 6, the next flagship smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer has been surfacing on the internet from past few weeks. First of all, the OnePlus 5T is sold out in North America, and it'd be surprising for OnePlus to not sell any handsets in the country between now and June. The company usually launches its phones around June.
Sure the iPhone X notch controversy does deserve some extra attention, which would explain why OnePlus is trying to get out in front of the story. So until we get an official confirmation, we are a little skeptical about the latest leak. Citing an anonymous source, GizmoChina has claimed that OnePlus will unveil its next flagship later this month.
The 64GB version of the phone is said to cost 3299 Yuan (about $523, £374, AU$686).
There's also supposed to be a 128GB variant for 3799 Yuan ($605 £431, AU$790) and a max-outed 256GB internal storage size for 4399 Yuan (about $700 £499, AU$915). It seems rather clear to me that the 6 at the end of the clip represents the 6 in the name of the phone - but maybe there's some sort of magical mystery I'm not seeing? GizmoChina reports that OnePlus 6 will launch earlier than before, and we could see it as early as end of this month.
Speaking of the Galaxy S9, the same GizmoChina report shared the image above, which supposedly shows a OnePlus 6 case. Below the dual camera system, the smartphone is expected to feature a fingerprint sensor.
Last week, OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei confirmed that their upcoming flagship - the OnePlus 6 - will sport a notch. The success of the OnePlus 5T in India has not been surprising considering the OnePlus 5 did so well, becoming the top-selling premium smartphone in India in Q3 previous year with around 25 per cent market share.
In case OnePlus does decide to unveil the OnePlus 6 in late April, we'll soon see more teasers and actual details for a press conference.
OnePlus 6 is expected to pack the most high-end specs for a smartphone yet.
