Unlike its battery replacement for iPhone 6 or newer models that'll set you back $29, though, Apple will swap your MacBook Pro battery for long as you have an eligible model.

Apple said the battery issue isn't a safety concern and battery replacements will be offered free of charge at Apple service providers, retail stores or by mailing the device in to the Apple fix center. The units with the possible defect were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017, though it isn't clear exactly how widespread this issue is as no official number of affected MacBooks has been released.

If you are eligible, Apple will replace the battery of your MacBook Pro free of cost. The actual warranty on your MacBook will stay the same.

This issue is not present on older 13-inch MacBook Pro models or the 13-inch MacBook Pros with Touch Bar.

This affects only the non-touchbar version of the macOS laptop, and only models with a 13-inch screen. You would get to know if yo need a battery replacement or not.

Use the serial number checker on Apple's support page to see if your device qualifies for this program. Apple walks you through the replacement process here. Click on this link and enter the serial number of the device in the search box on the page, and hit submit.

Apple has officially unveiled a new program for the Macbook Pro laptop users. If the system says yes, you can go ahead and contact to the nearby Apple's official Service Center. In some cases, there may be an additional cost associated with the fix.
