The "60 Minutes" interview of Stormy Daniels, the adult-film star who has claimed to have had an extramarital affair with President Donald Trump in 2006, is to be aired Sunday night after weeks of speculation.

"Being in the adult industry, I've developed a thick skin and maybe a little bit of a dark sense of humor", she told The Washington Post. That payment, she says, was meant to buy her silence about the alleged affair.

The president, his wife and their 11-year-old son, Barron, traveled to the exclusive Palm Beach, Fla., resort on Friday - although she traveled separately to Joint Base Andrews and was already aboard Air Force One when Trump arrived.

The payment has since become the focus of campaign finance complaints to the Federal Election Commission.

Daniels - facing a £14m lawsuit from Trump's lawyers - says she will use the money to pay for her legal fees in her battle to "tell the truth" about her supposed fling with the married Republican.

In her lawsuit filed earlier this month, she argues that the agreement she signed - which requires that she stay silent on matters related to Mr Trump and take any dispute to secret arbitration - is null and void because Mr Trump did not actually sign the document. The government watchdog group Common Cause argues that the payment was meant to influence the 2016 election by silencing Ms Daniels and therefore was an illegal in-kind contribution to Mr Trump's campaign.

"Now we have a sitting US President ... who is threatening to sue a private citizen for over $20 million for talking about their relationship", Avenatti said last week.

"I didn't know he was intimate with other ladies", she said last week on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.

That big interview with Daniels, again, is on 60 Minutes tonight... But she said she also has been overwhelmed by an outpouring of support.

"You know, at the bottom line, there's just never been a claim of - of - of harassment", Ruddy said.
