The Cavaliers, the unanimous No. 1 team in the latest Top 25 poll, are also the top seed in the ACC tournament after running away with the conference by four games and coming a couple of points short of a ideal league record.

The Cavaliers had to do that against the Irish, who came in looking to enhance their NCAA Tournament resume, but Devon Hall scored 17 points in his final game at John Paul Jones Arena and the Cavaliers won their second nail-biter in three days. He finished with 26 points without making a single 3-pointer.

Virginia's Tony Bennett was named Coach of the Year after leading the Cavaliers to the regular season title and No. 1 ranking after being unranked before the start of the season. Carter finished second in voting for the All-Freshman Team with 56 votes, just behind Bagley's unanimous 57, and the Atlanta native also received one vote for Defensive Player of the Year. The Hurricanes also earned double byes in 2013 and 2016.

Louisville (19-12, 9-9) went scoreless for almost six minutes as N.C. State built the largest lead of the game by either team.

Game 12: Game 8 victor vs.

The fifth-ranked Blue Devils have won six of their last seven games since dropping three of four, including a 65-63 home loss to the Cavaliers as 3.5-point favorites on January 27.

N.C. State led 33-32 at halftime, but the cushion could have been bigger. Just last season, Florida State reached the Elite Eight, but fell to SC, the eventual champions. Virginia was picked to finish sixth in the conference. Tuesday's game could be the last at Pitt for second-year coach Kevin Stallings. Sometimes, it seems the Deacons forget their 7-1, 280-pound center that is shooting 69 percent from the field, but if Wake Forest is to have any success in Brooklyn, it has to find a way to get Moore 10 or more field goal attempts. It's another freshman-laden team for Duke with conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Marvin Bagley III as the brightest star. A big name that they're getting production from is Allerik Freeman. Jerome was responsible for clutch shots late in U.Va. wins at Duke and Florida State, and in both regular-season games against Louisville. It has the first time Duke has won three consecutive matches by the score of 7-0 since a stretch running from February 6 to February 13, 2009.

Clemson (22-8, 11-7) entered the game ranked eighth in RPI and already assured of its first NCAA Tournament berth in seven years.

Bagley's 20.7 ppg was tied for first in the conference, while his 11.9 rebounds were first.

Robinson, who has a team-high 35 steals, has helped the Hokies go 21-10 overall. No. 6 North Carolina, 9 p.m.

Brandon Walters led the Blue Raiders with 20 points and Nick King added 18.
