Looks-wise, the V30S ThinkQ is identical to its predecessor, besides a new "Platinum Grey" colour option.
The camera is one of the upgrades to the LG V30 successor. There's no word on pricing and availability just yet.
The Mobile World Congress 2018 has kick-started and we have some of the first set of announcements flowing in. It identifies all of LG's home appliances, consumer electronics and services which utilize artificial intelligence.
On the artificial intelligence side of things, that's actually the biggest upgrade on this smartphone. Specific features that are being ported were not mentioned - mostly because it hasn't been ported yet. Apart from the aforementioned features exclusive to the V30S ThinQ, it also features voice and face recognition, features a fingerprint sensor and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Then there's a new Bright Mode for low-light photography, which the company claims can produce better photos twice as bright as before.
AI CAM will analyze the subjects that are present in the frame and will recommend an appropriate shooting mode from the eight modes available: Food, Portrait, Landscape, Pet, Flower, Sunset, City, and Sunrise. QLens, on the other hand, deals in the recognition of images in order to scan the QR codes and hopping information. Scanning an item of interest with QLens will give you the information as to where to buy the product online at the lowest price as well as recommendations for similar items.
The voice AI allows users to run apps and change settings through voice commands. Take LG's new V30S ThinQ, for example. The LG V30S comes with 6 GB RAM, up from 4 GB on the previous model, and the internal storage increases to 128 GB from 64 GB. While Samsung is capping its space at 64GB with microSD storage, LG V30 ThinkQ starts everyone off at 128GB now and also includes a microSD storage slot. Both the devices have lenticular finish on the back that displays different hues under certain lighting conditions.
LG is bringing all its AI-powered and connected devices under one roof which it likes to call ThinQ, and the latest addition to the sub-brand is the LG V30S ThinQ.
LG's existing G6 and LG V30 devices will receive key AI features of the V30S ThinQ in future updates, the company said.
Many companies talk about AI but we're already delivering on our promise by integrating intelligent technology in the LG V30S ThinQ to features most commonly used by our customers for a whole new level of convenience never before available in a smartphone of this calibre.
"And we will continue to introduce new AI capabilities to enhance usability". While the V30S ThinQ will include 128GB storage, the V30S+ ThinQ will have 256GB storage.
